LOCOMOTE 2002
Predlagana je bila tema "Olimpijske igre". Le-ta vsebuje aktualne elemente.
Glede na mednarodno pomembnost omenjenega projekta predstavljam problematiko v angleškem jeziku. Pipi lahko zadevo prevede v čisto slovenščino (kar vse do objave tega besedila še ni uspel narediti).
Najprej komentar na naše preteklo delo:
"Environment policy is one of the success stories of the European Union thanks to European Union Case Studies, such as DIGIT, we have significant improvements such as cleaner air and safer drinking water. But we still face some real problems."
Naj poudarim, da kanimo s projekti varstva okolja nadaljevati tudi v letu 2003 in graditi na uspehih iz preteklosti.
Glede na dobre odzive strokovne in lajične javnosti, se tokrat, v razširjeni ekipi, posvečamo razvoju narodov - s poudarkom na regionalnem razvoju in promociji človeskih virov na Balkanu.

To implement the EU's regional policy, the Structural Funds have been allocated a budget of EUR 195 billion for the period 2000-2006. They encourage the development of disadvantaged regions and promote social and human development. The Structural Funds cover the bulk of the EU's expenditure on cultural activities, as the cultural sector acts as a source of employment and a driving force behind local development by generating economic activities such as tourism and electronic services. Financial aid focuses on three main objectives:
- helping regions whose development is lagging behind to catch up (Objective 1);
- supporting economic and social conversion in areas facing structural difficulties (Objective 2);
- modernising systems of training and promoting employment (Objective 3).
Funding is awarded on the basis of operational programmes adopted by the Commission in response to proposals from the Member States (94% of appropriations), which themselves are a component of the policies adopted by the Commission at the beginning of the programming period (2000-2006).
